Hey! I’m Heather, a twenty-something year old living in New York.
In April 2016 I watched a farm factory documentary that changed my life. I was disgusted to learn what was happening to the “food” that I had considered healthy and ate for my whole life. I immediately cut out meat and over the next few months I phased out all animal products.
As I adapted to my new lifestyle, I became more interested in the health aspects of living as a vegan. I read every article, book and watched every documentary that I could get my hands on. It was amazing to see the many health benefits that came from taking out animal products. By living this way, I have greatly reduced my risk of developing many cancers, heart disease, diabetes, as well as many other illnesses. Through my research, I discovered that a starch based, low fat diet was best for me. Not only did I greatly reduce my risk of many diseases, but another amazing thing happened; I lost 45 pounds in 7 months. After years of dieting I had finally found the answer. A whole foods plant based diet has given me a new outlook on life.
